Dried Fruits


Apples

Apples contain Vitamin C, potassium, malic acid, tannin, volatile oil, fiber, pectin & sugars.

They are detoxifying and lower cholesterol. Apples (Malus domestica) stimulate the secretion of digestive juices and aid protein digestion. They contain pectin, which binds with cholesterol and bile acids, enhancing their excretion from the body. The pectin makes apples a remedy for simple diarrhea. Apples protect the body against the effects of some environmental toxins.

Bananas contain vitamins C, B3, B5, B6, biotin, magnesium, manganese, potassium, fibers and sugars. They are anti-stress, energy-boosting & a digestive stimulant. Bananas (Musa cavendishii) help prevent high blood pressure, heart disease, caner, and rheumatoid arthritis. The two most common forms of dried figs are Black Mission—with a dark, dense flesh and an intense flavor—and the golden Calimyrna variety, prized for its sweet, nutty taste.

Figs have been found beneficial for constipation, low blood pressure, anemia, colitis, emaciation, asthma, tuberculosis, pleurisy, catarrh, gout, rheumatism, and skin diseases. By splitting open a fig and soaking it for several minutes in warm water, the fig forms an excellent poultice for an external inflamed boil or other abscess. It also may be applied with generally good results to an abscess of the gums of the teeth.
